Baby Shower

My baby shower was March 5th. I know I shared some of my wedding DIY items, so it wouldn't be right to share my baby shower DIY items.

My mother threw Jay and I a baby shower. I was told I didn't need to do anything and that she had everything covered, but you know me. I just had to add my own personal touch, lol. I knew that I wanted a theme of teddy bears and baby blocks. I thought it would be really easy to find inspiration for a theme like this because the theme seemed so simple, but I only found like two pictures and they were nothing like what I wanted.

I made the invitations. The pictures I took weren't that great. My mother-in-law still has one in her scrapbook, so maybe she will let me snap a better picture.

At first, we were planning to order them, but I had just bought a professional printer and I figured I would try it out and make them myself. I saved a ton of money and they turned out great! I definitely want to practice making more invites for other people. My friend just found out that she's pregnant so I hope she will let me design her baby shower invites :)

I bought a printable party kit by M. Bradley Designs. Her Etsy store is here. She was affordable and really easy to work with.

The kit included a bunch printable items, but I only used the pinwheels, cupcake toppers, banner and candy table signs.

I found some wooden baby blocks at hobby lobby. They came in three sizes and I was so excited about them I bought all three sizes. I bought ten little blocks for centerpieces, two medium bokes for the candy table, and two large boxes for the heck of it. Actually, they are sitting in the closet in Mason's room. Maybe I'll do something with them soon. I have no clue what I'm going to use them for.

Since Jay works nights, I had lots of time on my hands and I had plenty of time to decorate my boxes. My mom spray painted the boxes (she was so awesome for that!) and I added rhinestones. It took a week to finish the centerpieces and two days for the bigger boxes.

I had six guest tables, so I used the extra four centerpieces on the gift table and the sign-in table. Can you believe by the end the night all of the centerpieces were gone? I thought I would be able to keep at least one.

I only outlined the letters on the bigger boxes because I ran out of rhinestones and ran out of time so I couldn't order anymore. I think they still turned out alright.

The shower was wonderful and we had a great turnout despite having horrible weather that day.

Alright, that's enough for tonight. I hope you all will enjoy this post!
